Position Overview:
The Digital Marketing & Events Specialist (Social Media & Events) is responsible for executing Duka’s digital marketing initiatives while leading social media, event marketing, community engagement, and multimedia content creation. This role combines creativity with strong organizational and coordination skills to enhance brand awareness, engage target audiences, and support lead generation and employer branding initiatives.
Working collaboratively with the marketing team and internal stakeholders, the Digital Marketing & Events Specialist manages Duka’s social media presence, coordinates marketing events, produces photo and video content, supports digital campaigns, and ensures brand consistency across all marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
-Maintain marketing and content calendars to support campaigns and organizational priorities.
-Support market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
-Apply corporate brand standards across all marketing materials and communications.
-Support corporate identity initiatives to ensure brand consistency.
-Maintain the organization's digital marketing asset library, including photography, video, and other digital assets.
-Maintain and coordinate the content calendar across digital channels.
-Support internal communications through engaging digital content and event promotion.
-Own and manage all social media channels, including content planning, creation, publishing, community management, and performance optimization.
-Coordinate paid digital advertising campaigns with internal teams and external partners.
-Support website updates by creating and maintaining digital content.
-Own on-page SEO initiatives to improve search visibility and organic traffic.
-Manage the organization's Google Business Profile and respond to customer reviews to maintain a positive online reputation.
-Support marketing automation initiatives through email distribution and campaign execution.
-Execute the social media components of integrated marketing campaigns.
-Support lead generation initiatives through digital marketing activities.
-Monitor, analyze, and report on social media and campaign performance.
-Maintain the organizational event calendar.
-Plan, coordinate, and execute corporate events.
-Own event communications, including promotional campaigns, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up.
-Lead community engagement initiatives through digital and in-person activities.
-Support corporate partnership initiatives and provide event coverage for sponsorship activities.
-Coordinate and capture professional photography for marketing campaigns, events, organizational initiatives, and employer branding activities.
-Own the planning, production, and editing of video content for social media, marketing campaigns, and employer branding.
-Provide photography, videography, and social media coverage for corporate and sponsored events.
-Support recruitment marketing initiatives through event promotion and digital content.
-Produce employee spotlight stories using photography and video.
-Support employee engagement campaigns through event coordination and multimedia content creation.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, event coordination, or a related marketing role.
- Experience planning and executing corporate or community events.
- Experience creating photo and video content for digital platforms.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
- Experience using content management systems and marketing automation tools.
- Strong photography, videography, and basic video editing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience using analytics tools to measure campaign performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and marketing design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset.
