Position Overview
As an Automated Confined Space Management (ACSM) Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of personnel working in confined spaces. Working alongside your teammates, you will install, operate, and maintain our E-Zephyr Automated Confined Space Monitoring System, allowing confined space activities to be monitored remotely while maintaining the highest safety standards.
This is a safety-critical position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of confined space hazards and safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission the E-Zephyr Automated Confined Space Monitoring System.
- Set up remote monitoring stations for confined space operations.
- Install ventilation fans, ducting, and related equipment.
- Perform equipment inspections before, during, and after each shift.
- Conduct functional checks to ensure monitoring equipment is operating correctly.
- Continuously monitor confined space activities and respond promptly to alarms or emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, equipment inspection records, and daily activity reports.
- Verify atmospheric monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
- Communicate effectively with confined space entrants, supervisors, and site personnel.
- Follow all client procedures, legislation, and company safety policies.
- Keep work areas organized and maintain company equipment in excellent condition.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Assist with troubleshooting monitoring and ventilation equipment when required.
- Promote a strong safety culture and demonstrate safe work practices at all times.

- Physically capable of lifting and installing monitoring equipment and ventilation ducting.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Reside within Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Hold a valid H2S Alive certificate
- Hold a valid Standard First Aid certificate (preferred)
- Hold Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Hold Energy Safety Canada Confined Space Entry and Monitor
- Hold Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection (preferred)
- Have the ability to pass client-required site access requirements
