The Field Service Technician installs, calibrates and troubleshoots gas detection systems at customer sites. Their primary function is to provide accurate, efficient, and proactive customer service, positively representing us to customers while always working at the highest level of professionalism with both customers and co-workers. This position reports to the Dispatch Manager.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Install, Service and Calibrate gas detection sensors as needed as per manufacturing guidelines and company training.
· Thoroughly review Salesforce CRM for the scope of work and requirements and ensure all tools, ladders, equipment are available, up to date and ready for the job.
Ensure the accuracy of customer and business records and contact details by confirming with Dispatch and accurately updating information in Salesforce CRM.
· Effectively troubleshoot sensors, strobe lights, etc. that are not functioning using best practices.
· Review customer information gathered to determine if any new products or services would benefit the customer.
· Write a complete Salesforce report before leaving each site by fully and accurately detailing the services rendered and by uploading pictures as instructed.
· Check with Dispatch team for questions or clarification.
· Communicate regularly with Reports and Dispatch teams as instructed.
· Follow all Standard Operating/Safety Procedures and Health and Safety policies and laws while installing, calibrating and troubleshooting gas detection systems, both inside and outside, and while driving .
· Submit daily expenses using SalesForce CRM.
· Travel 100%
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or technical/professional diploma/certification or equivalent experience.
· Demonstrated technical proficiency. 3 years of Field Service/Technical Response experience or equivalent is an asset but not required.
· Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) for clear, accurate communications with customers, colleagues, and in Salesforce CRM.
· High drive to understand and meet Customer needs in balance with business requirements
· Knowledge of AC/DC electrical, operation of relays, and low-voltage controls.
· Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Teams. Salesforce CRM software experience is a plus.
· Ability to professionally handle complaints and find solutions.
· Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and pressure.
· Strong problem-solving skills and experience with process improvement to identify solutions.
· Great multi-tasker with ability to handle multiple issues with ease while being organized and efficient in managing priorities.
Field Service Technicians must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and obtain relevant background checks as required to service customers.
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
