THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO) is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and organized individual to join our team as a full-time Multimedia Designer – Summer Student.
The Multimedia Designer – Summer Student will work with the ECVO team to identify, update, and support the development of multimedia products that support communications and digital educational offerings. This role will be leading digital creation projects as well as reviewing current projects on our Learning Management System (LMS). Work in this area will rely on building relationships with the ECVO team, taking initiative in identifying possible projects, and leading design and development conversations.
If you have experience with video recording and editing, using tools such as Canva, WordPress, or Adobe Premiere and are excited about the opportunity to apply your skills in a meaningful way, this role may be for you!
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Review and Planning
- Conduct a review of ECVO’s online training programs to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for multimedia integration.
- Develop a detailed workplan that prioritizes content creation based on program timelines and online launch schedules.
Content Development and Collaboration
- Collaborate with program leads to update and/or create engaging multimedia content for online learning modules and social media.
- Develop additional multimedia materials to support ECVO’s broader communications and training initiatives such as social media content, newsletters, and other communications related tasks as required.
Multimedia Production
- Create and edit various media formats, including:
- Videos
- Voice-over animations
- Infographics
- Other digital assets to enhance learning and engagement.

WHY WORK WITH US?
Salary: $22.30/hour
Hours of Work: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Term: 8 weeks
This position is funded in part by the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program. As such, a successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period,
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Must not be employed in more than one CSJ funded job at the same time.
- *International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
