Independent Territory Sales Representative – Interior Toronto - Ottawa (Contractor)
Territory: Toronto and Eastern Ontario including Ottawa
Compensation: Monthly guarantee plus commission; target earnings CA$80,000–$110,000+ annually (performance dependent)
Job Summary
Motovan is seeking an experienced Independent Sales Representative to manage and grow our Toronto/Eastern Ontario territory. The ideal candidate will be based in the in or between the Toronto - Ottawa region, allowing for efficient coverage of the territory. This is a remote, self-employed contractor role ideal for a motivated outside sales professional who values autonomy and long-term account relationships.
You will operate your own sales business while representing Motovan’s portfolio of established powersports brands, servicing existing accounts and developing new opportunities within the territory.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular in-person visits
- Prospect and open new accounts within the assigned territory
- Present and sell products from multiple digital catalogues
- Execute and close sales calls while delivering a high level of customer service
- Recommend appropriate inventory levels and merchandising standards
- Place and transmit orders and maintain customer account records
- Communicate account activity, opportunities, and issues to internal teams
- Assist with account collections when required
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of outside sales experience preferred
- Powersports industry experience is a strong asset
- Strong negotiation, organization, and follow-up skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing/traveling throughout a territory
- Proficient with B2B portals, email, Teams, and Excel
- Able to conduct sales presentations and product training
- Valid driver’s license, passport, and reliable transportation required
Engagement Details
- Structured as an independent contractor relationship
- Monthly guaranteed plus commission with strong unlimited earning potential
- As an independent contractor, you manage your own business expenses and tax obligations
- Full-time territory focus expected
