Reporting to the Operations Manger the position is the primary point of contact for event bookings including Ski S’cool lessons. Applicants must have exceptional communication skills, have a positive attitude and work in a dynamic and often fast-paced collaborative team environment. Other requirements include being prepared for the physical demands of the job and available to work through the holidays.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of Nordic skiing, youth programs and and ski area operations
- Experience with online registration & POS systems, and other computer software
- Good computer skills (word processing and information management)
- Ability to take direction, function independently and manage multiple tasks and teams
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think and act independently
- Demonstrated team leadership, supervisory skills, strong administrative and delegation skills
- Superior communications skills in working with team members, teachers, youth and the public
- Ability to function in a team environment
- Energetic and outgoing personality
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 or equivalent is required (SLNC may reimburse training cost)
- Physically fit – able to lift and/or pull 30 lbs and stand for long periods of time
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Supervisory
- Pre-Season
- Assist the Operations Manager on assessment of staffing needs for S’Cool Ski Program and coordinate instructor scheduling following the 2026-2027 Staffing Budget
- Assisting with instructor recruitment, conduct performance reviews for instructors and liaise with Operations Manager regarding performance of instructors
- In-Season
- Identifying and ensuring regular delivery of training needs of instructors
- Identifying and ensuring regular maintenance of S’Cool Ski Program equipment, notifying the Operations Manager of required repairs or orders
- Will work regularly with the Ski Technician to ensure skis are properly waxed and maintained.
- Scheduling of Instructors, managing any scheduling issues that arise, approving timesheets at the payroll deadline
Administrative
- Pre-Season
- Manage the scheduling of all schools participating in S’Cool Ski Programming at SLNC
- In-Season
- Manage and update weekly the S’Cool ski data sheet for invoicing by the accountant
- Provide reports to the Operations Manager on filling of the schedule
- Manage office supplies and S’Cool Ski programs items with the Operations Manager
- Maintain the school database
- Review/Approve instructor timesheets bi-weekly
- Lead Instructor Team Meetings to strategize upcoming weekly calendars
- Member & Guest Services
- Handling cash and conducting daily cash outs independently
- Operating POS for ticket sales and retail purchases
- Assisting customers with online ticket sales
- Book lessons when required
- Creating, processing & printing of gift certificates
- Ensure effective and organized documentation of rentals and waxing services
- Monitoring, answering and referral of general telephone, web or email inquiries
- Represent frontline staff on a Joint Health and Safety Committee
Facilities Operations
- Ensuring daily maintenance and equipment organization of S’Cool Ski facilities
- General clean-up, snow shoveling, wood chopping/restocking, and garbage pick-up with a focus on S’Cool Ski facilities
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and replace with the approval of the GM
- Carry out daily maintenance of facilities
- Standard janitorial duties
- Restocking of product
- Responding to First Aid Emergencies (often outside for extended periods of time)
- Operating quads and snowmobiles
- Aiding with clean up or take down of a special program events
- Ensuring appropriate rental equipment is issued to all patrons
Guest Service
- First Contact for all school administrators and school teachers
- Expand programming options to fill empty calendar dates by approaching new groups and schools in the region
- Working with Lodge Staff when required for equipment use in the lodge
- Identify customer service issues, resolving them where possible and identifying chronic systemic or staffing problems to the Operations Manager
- Participating as part of the front counter customer service team
- Provide friendly and prompt customer service at all times
- Selling tickets, food and merchandise, renting equipment, managing reservations for lessons and special events
- Providing information about products, trails and upcoming events
- Booking other user groups as necessary and maintaining records/tracking of these groups
Communications and Marketing
- Monitoring, answering and referral of general inquiries([email protected])
- Updating of website content is accurate and current, coordinated with the Operations Manager, including the S’Cool Ski Calendar
- Conduct public outreach to build the Program in our schools and throughout the community
- Distribution of rack cards to Program families
- Promotion to schools, and targeted events when available in person
- Set up a school visitation program to recruit new schools and to help increase productivity for when the groups arrive at SLNC
- Expand and grow markets for marginalized youth, Youth Centres, Indigenous groups, and diverse abilities
- Act as a Committee Member on the Jess4Kids Ski Scholarship Fund, attending scheduled meetings when necessary and to submit J4K Funding applications to the group for peer review
