Looking for a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our growing team!
We are a brand-new, locally owned veterinary hospital in the heart of Toronto’s Little Italy community, focused on providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care with a warm, personalized approach. As a growing clinic, we are looking for someone excited to grow with us, help shape our future, and be part of something special from the beginning.
We are seeking someone who can balance professionalism with kindness — someone who enjoys helping pets and supporting their owners while working collaboratively with a close-knit team. This role is ideal for someone who is a quick learner, eager to learn, adaptable, and excited to grow in a supportive veterinary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting clients and patients with warmth, compassion, and professionalism
- Answering phones, booking appointments, and managing client communication
- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians during appointments and treatments
- Safely restraining pets for exams and procedures
- Monitoring hospitalized patients and assisting with patient care
- Preparing medications, exam rooms, supplies, and patient files
- Cleaning and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces
- Assisting with inventory, stocking, and clinic organization
- Supporting both reception and veterinary assistant duties as needed (cross-training opportunities available)
- Helping create a welcoming, supportive, and positive clinic environment for pets, clients, and team members
Qualifications:
- Previous veterinary clinic experience is an asset but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced setting
- Eager to learn and grow professionally within the veterinary field
- Team-oriented, dependable, and willing to jump in wherever needed
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Passion for animal care and helping clients feel supported
- Daysmart Vet experience but will train
