Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Specialist to support our growing operation. We have a proud tradition in the sales, manufacturing, installation and servicing of air-supported structures since 1970 and are committed to continuing the development of new products and services to help our customers minimize costs and maximize revenues.
The Engineering Specialist will have a background in mechanical engineering and will work directly with our design team. The position will involve carrying out various engineering tasks and includes close coordination with our sales and manufacturing teams.
This is a permanent hybrid remote position operating out of our Puslinch Head Office, with travel and site work required.
The duties/responsibilities of this role include:
· Providing HVAC design for the air supported structures which include air leakage calculations.
· Developing preliminary designs for the foundation and superstructure of the air supported structures.
· Providing patterning layouts for the fabric superstructures.
· Conducting field surveys to assess existing conditions and the installation of the superstructure.
· Preparing specifications and selection of proposed HVAC equipment and materials.
· Manufacturing process improvements and efficiencies (possible equipment that could be used to offset manual processes to improve efficiency and/or reduce repetitive strain injuries)
· Process/design improvements to facilitate more efficient installation of the domes
· Energy efficiency and improvements with the domes/design
· Research to generate other ideas for process/product improvements or new products
· Responding to client requests through our sales team.
· Liaising and supporting our external structural consultant in the review and seal of drawing packages.
· Working with our manufacturing team to resolve manufacturing and design related issues.
· Working closely with staff at various levels to ensure the successful completion of projects.
· Other duties as required
The successful candidate will have:
· 2 + years’ experience in mechanical engineering.
· Post-secondary education in a mechanical engineering program with the ability to get a Professional Engineering license.
· Working knowledge of Canadian Standards, including provincial and national energy codes.
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
· Knowledge of municipal and provincial agencies’ processes.
· A keen interest in personal growth and development
· Post-secondary education in a technical discipline.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Advanced organizational, written and oral communication skills.
Pay: $60,048.91-$70,000.00 per year
