FORACO CANADA Ltd., an international drilling company serving the Canadian mineral exploration market, is currently accepting resumes from qualified individuals for as HSE Coordinator position for Eastern Canada based out of North Bay, Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The HSE coordinator is responsible for providing HSE support for Eastern Canada operations. As the HSE coordinator, you will play a key role in the execution and implementation of a diverse range of health and safety programs for the Foraco team in the Eastern Canada Region.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Participate in the development and implementation of health and safety strategies, training programs, and procedures;
- Promote a reputable health & safety culture by coaching employees on the importance of having safe attitudes and pro-active behaviors.
- Deliver various training programs and conduct site specific orientation.
- Assist and support supervisors in all site activities related to occupational health & safety;
- Identify requirements and coordinate site and job specific training.
- Comply with and promote the Foraco Safety Management Continuous Improvement Standard.
- Responsible for ensuring employees are in compliance with the Safety Management Continuous improvement standard.
- Support the surface and underground program by attending client inspections, company inspections, attending meetings, and promoting client driven initiatives.
- Ensure company and client training is completed as required, and tracked in a training matrix.
- Conduct gap analysis on various portions of the safety management system and close gaps when identified.
- Regular, proactive visits to work sites.
- Hands on coaching and real time assessment of how work can be done more safely.
- Assessing the current SWPs to compare what is being done in the field and to make amendments based on the assessment.
- Perform inspections/workplace audits, investigate incidents, and ensure corrective actions are tracked to completion.
- Interpret health and safety legislation and client site safety requirements to make recommendations that ensure compliance and due diligence on the part of all on-site personnel;
- Assist in the planning and start-up of new site projects and/or work scopes;
- Support supervisors and personnel in the development of JHAs ensuring they have identified all hazards and have implemented the appropriate controls to conduct work in a safe manner.
- Regularly monitor the safety compliance of workers and supervisors through Job Task Observations;
- Assist and support the OHS Committee;
Required Experience and Certifications:
- 5+ years of relevant HSE experience is mandatory.
- A Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is mandatory.
Considered a Strong Asset.
- CRSP/NCSO/GSC Designation
- Experience working in an underground environment.
- Underground Diamond Drilling Common Core (or equivalent)
- Experience in surface and underground diamond drilling.
- ISO 9001:2015 or experience in Quality Control
Training Requirements
- 3M Qualitative Fit Testing Certification (or equivalent)
- Incident Investigation Training
- Isolation Theory Training
- First Aid/CPR
Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pre‐Access Medical, Drug, and Alcohol Testing
- Criminal Record Check
Target Salary Range and compensation:
