Role Description
We are hiring a full-time, well-rounded, dependable, skilled carpenters with knowledge of various carpentry and finishing techniques. You should be able to perform various tasks such as, framing, drywall, mudding, taping, installation of windows and doors, building steps and decks, door and cabinet adjustments, along with various other aspects of finish carpentry. we expect our carpenters to take pride in their work and be able to deliver on all task given to them. You must be attentive to detail, follow safety regulations and be efficient in your work. Additionally, you must expect to work residential, commercial, service, and renovations/restorations jobs.
We offer a competitive rate between $20-$30/hr based of skill and experience. Our operating hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
Requirements
- All applicant must have a valid driver’s license; proof of a valid drivers license will be required. A company vehicle may be provided for travel to job sites.
- All applicants must demonstrates effective communication skills between clients and staff, as well as the ability to follow direction. the ability to respectfully communicate with our customers is crucial and should always be upheld.
- Chosen applicants must be open to performing a variety of carpentry tasks, and have experience is all aspects of carpentry.
- Applicants must have a positive attitude, good work ethic, take pride in their work, and work well alone or as part of a team.
Skill Set
- Carpentry skills including framing, drywall, mudding, and finish carpentry
- Ability to install doors & windows, structures & fixtures
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
- Experience using various construction materials and techniques
- Can take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Ability to understand plans, work orders and interpret different tasks
- Attention to detail, craftsmanship and quality of work
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Physical stamina, ability to lift heavy objects and transport/move materials when needed
- Excellent communication skills
- Good understanding of basic math.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Drivers license
- Reside locally in Nova Scotia
