Business Technology Manager
Position Summary
The Business Technology Manager leads the company’s technology strategy, systems, infrastructure, software development, AI initiatives, integrations, cybersecurity, and data initiatives. This role aligns technology with business goals, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, reliable, and support operational excellence and growth. The position provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight while enabling technical teams to independently execute day-to-day operations and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership
· Develop and execute the technology & digital roadmap aligned with business objectives.
· Partner with leadership to identify and deliver technology-driven improvements.
· Establish technology standards, governance, and best practices.
Infrastructure & IT Operations
· Oversee infrastructure, networks, cloud services, cybersecurity, backups, and disaster recovery.
· Ensure reliability, availability, and performance of business-critical systems.
· Provide strategic oversight of IT support operations.
Business Systems & Applications
· Lead enterprise applications, including TMS, ERP, reporting, and database environments.
· Drive system enhancements, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
· Ensure systems effectively support operational and customer requirements.
Software Development & Project Delivery
· Govern internal software development and project portfolios.
· Prioritize initiatives based on business value and strategic impact.
· Oversee project delivery, resource planning, risk management, and timelines.
· Ensure development standards, security, quality, and documentation are maintained.
EDI & Integrations
· Oversee EDI, APIs, customer integrations, and data exchange platforms.
· Ensure reliable connectivity and transaction processing with customers and partners.
· Resolve escalated integration issues impacting operations.
Reporting, Analytics & Process Improvement
· Lead reporting, analytics, KPI measurement, and business intelligence initiatives.
· Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
· Support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
· Manage technology vendors, service providers, and key technology partnerships.
· Oversee technology budgets, contracts, and resource planning.
· Lead technology projects from planning through implementation.
People Leadership
· Lead, mentor, and develop technology team members.
· Set performance expectations, priorities, and development plans.
· Foster collaboration across business and technology functions.
AI, Automation & Innovation
· Lead AI adoption and business process automation initiatives.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through digital solutions.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or related field.
· Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
· 7+ years of progressive experience in technology, business systems, software development, digital transformation or IT leadership.
· Experience managing teams, vendors, projects, and business-critical systems.
· Proven success leading cross-functional technology initiatives.
· Transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience is an asset.

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
