The Unit Clerk reports to Director of Care and is expected to assist with all the day to day facility wide nursing administrative functions as directed by the Director of Care and Registered team members.
Wage Rate:
The starting wage rate is $19/hour.

Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the assigned nursing unit.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, correspondence, and inquiries, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.
- Maintain resident clinical records, including filing, chart maintenance, admissions,discharges, transfers, and deceased resident records in accordance with legislation and organizational policies.
- Assist with resident admission, discharge, and relocation processes.
- Prepare and process unit correspondence, reports, forms, and other documentation.
- Conducts inventory, manages delivery and organizes unit supplies and supports efficient use of resources.
- Support quality improvement, risk management, accreditation, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Participate in inspections, audits, meetings, and committees as required.
- Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety, infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, and workplace policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Care or Unit Manager.
Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
- Post-secondary education
- Experience in Office Administration, Medical Office Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous administrative or unit clerk experience in health care or long-term care is an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, electronic documentation systems, and health and safety requirements is an asset.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Ability to problem solve, conflict resolution skills and understands team concepts and team building.
- Sense of responsibility, integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and flexible with performing other assigned duties
- Ability to work from the heart and make others smile
- Clear vulnerable sector screening (w/ in last 6 months), recent TB test results (w/ in last 6 months) or Chest X-Ray (w/ in last 1 yr), and two supervisory references required
