Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled 310S Automotive Technician to join our dynamic service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, including GM models and diesel engines. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive electrical systems, and proficiency with hand tools and power tools. A background in dealership service, schematics, and automotive diagnostics is highly desirable. The technician will ensure high-quality service delivery, uphold safety standards, and contribute to customer satisfaction through expert vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, electrical systems, and diesel engines as needed.
- Execute vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and system inspections.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems.
- Repair or replace vehicle components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive service techniques.
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Document all repairs thoroughly for warranty purposes and maintain accurate service records.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally.
- Assist in auto estimating processes to determine repair costs when required.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and GM vehicle protocols.
Experience
- Previous dealership/ Mechanic shop experience is preferred, especially with GM, Japanes, German vehicles.
- Proven experience with automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, transmissions, powertrain repairs, and diesel engine repair.
- Hands-on experience with schematics reading, vehicle maintenance procedures, alignment services, and automotive electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with service technician responsibilities including auto estimating and customer interaction is advantageous.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and general mechanical repair skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment.
