Introduction – First Nation Land Governance Registry Inc. (FNLGR)
The First Nation Land Governance Registry Inc. (FNLGR) is a national First Nation-governed institution supporting the registration and administration of interests and rights in First Nation lands under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management, as recognized in the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management Act (FAFNLMA).
FNLGR is incorporated under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance with its Articles, By-Laws and Board-approved policies. FNLGR has been developed as a modern replacement to federal registry systems, including the First Nations Land Register System (FNLRS) and the Self-Government First Nations Land Register System (SGFNLRS).
FNLGR provides a secure, reliable, and structured framework for the registration of interests in First Nation lands. It supports First Nation jurisdiction over land governance and contributes to transparent, effective, and sustainable land administration systems across participating First Nations.

This role contributes to FNLGR’s mandate by supporting accurate, secure and professional registry operations, policy implementation, stakeholder service, system readiness or corporate administration, depending on the position. Scope of Role
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and maintaining an organization’s information technology systems, hardware, software, cloud-based applications, and user support services. The role ensures employees have reliable access to technology resources and that IT systems operate securely, efficiently and consistently with FNLGR policies, cybersecurity requirements and operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide first-level technical support for staff related to computer hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, email, cloud-based applications, virtual meeting tools and other IT equipment and services.
- Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day IT issues in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex matters to external vendors or service providers where required.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, maintenance, and replacement of computers, peripherals, user accounts, and related technology equipment.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes by preparing equipment, configuring user access, and maintaining system access records in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for IT assets, software licenses, warranties, and technology-related documentation.
- Assist with website updates, technology implementations, software deployments, and routine system maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors, consultants, and service providers to support operational requirements and technology-related projects.
- Support cybersecurity and data protection practices by assisting with software updates, password management, backups, and adherence to organizational security procedures.
- Support compliance with FNLGR policies, procedures, information management standards and confidentiality requirements
- Demonstrate professionalism, impartiality and good judgment in all work related to FNLGR operations
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and What You Will Bring
The successful candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the role, including:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience providing IT support, system administration, technology support or related technology services.
- Knowledge of First Nation land governance, registry systems, records management, administration, law, policy, finance, communications or information technology, as applicable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment, professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaboratively with a national team
- Commitment to respectful, inclusive and service-oriented work practices
- Understanding of First Nation governance, the Framework Agreement or land administration would be considered an asset.

The salary range for this position is $91,534-$111,534 annually. Final placement within the approved range will be based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, and demonstrated competencies, in accordance with FNLGR’s compensation framework and approved budget.”
