Job Title: Sanitation Technician I
Location: North York, ON (Food Manufacturing Facility)
Shift: Morning shift/ Night Shift
Pay: Morning and afternoon: $23.65/ Night Shift: $24.65 + $2 for weekend work
You will be working any 3 days in weekdays, 8 hour shift and weekend 12 hours, (Both Saturday/ Sunday mandatory).
- Night Shift- 10:30 pm- 6:30 am (Weekday- Any 3 days)
- Night shift- 6:00 pm- 6:00 am (Weekends)
- Morning Shift- 6:00 am- 2:00 pm
- Morning Shift- 6:00 am- 6:00 pm

Job Summary
We are currently hiring a Sanitation Technician I for a food manufacturing facility located in North York, ON. This role is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and safely operating sanitation equipment within a production environment while ensuring strict adherence to food safety, GMP, and health & safety standards.
The ideal candidate has experience working with industrial equipment sanitation, is comfortable disassembling and reassembling machinery, and has Skyjack/scissor lift training.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize industrial food production equipment and surrounding areas.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment to allow proper cleaning access.
- Ensure electrical components such as motors, sensors, and HMI screens are protected prior to cleaning.
- Perform sanitation tasks on equipment such as:
Conveyor systems
Ovens
Industrial mixers
Motors
Packaging equipment
HVAC components
Remove and reinstall conveyor belts when required.
- Support equipment sanitation through equipment jogging procedures (running partial cycles to access cleaning areas) while following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
- Operate Skyjack/scissor lifts to clean overhead equipment and ventilation systems.
- Replace air socks and perform other sanitation maintenance tasks when required.
- Assist with sanitation during production changeovers.
- Follow all GMP, Food Safety, BRC, and Health & Safety policies.
- Handle sanitation chemicals safely according to company and supplier guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure sanitation standards are met.
Many of these responsibilities align with sanitation technician duties such as cleaning industrial equipment, maintaining sanitation programs, and supporting production operations.

Requirements
- Skyjack or scissor lift certification (required)
- Experience disassembling and reassembling industrial equipment
- Experience working in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation
- Minimum 6 months sanitation experience in a food production environment
- Strong knowledge of GMP and workplace safety practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify sanitation issues
- Flexible to work night shifts, weekends, and extended shifts when required
Nice to Have
- Experience removing and reinstalling conveyor belts
- Experience cleaning robotic packaging equipment (Schubert systems, pickers, packaging robotics)
- Experience replacing air socks or HVAC sanitation components
- Experience performing equipment jogging during sanitation procedures
