Start Date : July 6th , 2026
Status: 13-month contract with the possibility of extension
Hours: Full Time / 40 hours per week

About you
You are a Registered Early Childhood Educator and are in good standing with the College of ECE. You have a minimum of 5 (five) years experience working in the childcare field. You are passionate about emergent curriculum and life-long learning. You are engaging, supportive and thoughtful. You understand the importance of building strong connections with children, families, and staff. You value the importance of a team atmosphere and work in partnership with staff at every level.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Site Supervisor
· Ensure and facilitates the smooth functioning of all aspects of the childcare centre
· Ensure the centre meets the licensing requirements of the Child Care & Early Years Act
· Ensure the centre meets Durham Region Operating Criteria
· Comply with the organizations policies and procedures related to health and safety
· Develop and maintains positive relationships and communication with families and the community
· Provide leadership, supervision support and encouragement to all centre staff
· Review and stay abreast of any changes to policies and procedures of the centre
· Ensure regular communication (as required) with third parties, including school principal and custodial staff
· Work closely and maintain consistent communication with the Program Manager and Executive Director to relay information about matters affecting the centre.
· Coordinate and conduct orientation for staff, families and students
· Ensure that appropriate professional development opportunities are available to staff in accordance to the training requirements and needs of the centre staff
· To be a positive role model and give suggestions to all aspects of program planning, and classroom activities
· Complete administrative tasks as required
· Oversee the financial matters including fee management and fee collection
· Able to work longer days when required due to management meetings, on-site emergencies or staff shortage
Qualifications:
· Early Childhood Educator Diploma or Degree (RECE)
· Registered with the College of ECE and in good standings
· Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA),Durham Region Operating Criteria (DROC)
· An understanding of How Does Learning Happen? and ELECT
· Valid Certificate for CPR and Standard First Aid
· Up to date immunizations including 2 step TB (Tuberculosis) test.
· Current Criminal background check including vulnerable sector
· Minimum 5 (five) years experience working in the childcare field
· Previous supervisory experience an asset
· Superior interpersonal skills, high degree of initiative and dedication
