Canoe Guide Job Description
Overview
As a Canoe Guide, you will lead groups on exciting canoeing adventures, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. You will be responsible for educating guests about the natural environment, canoeing techniques, and safety protocols while fostering a spirit of adventure and teamwork. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
The tours will be day trips ranging from 2hr, 3.5hr and 6hr. We also have option to have overnight tours for guides who are experienced and can demonstrate appropriate skills.
Duties
- Lead guided canoe trips on various waterways, ensuring the safety of all participants.
- Educate guests on canoeing techniques, local wildlife, and environmental conservation.
- Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to enhance participants' skills and confidence.
- Manage group dynamics, ensuring everyone feels included and engaged throughout the trip.
- Maintain equipment and ensure canoes are in good working condition before each outing.
- Communicate effectively with guests to address questions or concerns during trips.
- Implement safety protocols and respond to emergencies as needed.

Requirements:
- Experience guiding on water
- Min 40hr wilderness first aid or equal.
- Ideal candidate will have a class 4 driving license but not a requirement.
- Must be capable of heavy lifting 30-50pounds
