Job Description:
As the program RN you will provide subject matter expertise in nursing to support the delivery of client-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will use your knowledge of nursing practices, medical conditions, and health guidelines, and your experience working with children and youth to provide consultation, education, training, and other support to our clinical teams and families.
This is a 1 year contract with the possibility of extension.
The salary range for this position is $35.19/hr CAD- $43.99/hr CAD
Your responsibilities include:
- Working with families and clinical teams to develop medical safety plans
- Consulting with families and clinical teams on medical conditions, medication side effects/risks and benefits and management, infectious diseases, other nursing related subject matters, health and safety practices
- Obtaining informed consent for medication administration and medical safety plans
- Supporting the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the documentation of health data in the health record
- Liaising with regional public health dept, school boards, other community partners as needed
- Providing education and training to clients, their families, and our clinical teams
- Providing general nursing and health and safety subject matter expertise and support to the program as needed
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent**
- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Proof of Personal Professional Liability Insurance
- Recent experience and expertise in mental health/psychiatry
- Knowledge of normal child/youth growth and development
- Excellent nursing clinical assessment and intervention skills
- Proven facilitation, communication and counselling skills
- Excellent and proven goal-directed, solution-focused interpersonal skills
- The successful candidate will require a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Fluency in French language (written and oral) an asset.
