Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for a 3-month assignment to oversee daily warehouse operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and optimizing all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order picking, and shipping. The incumbent ensures operational excellence by meeting productivity, quality, health and safety, and customer service objectives while fostering a positive, engaged, and high-performing work environment.
Duties
- Lead and develop warehouse staff by supervising daily activities, coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training, and fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
- Manage warehouse operations by planning and coordinating receiving, storage, inventory, order fulfillment, shipping, and resource allocation to ensure efficient daily performance.
- Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance by promoting a strong Health & Safety culture, maintaining equipment, enforcing safe work practices, and adhering to company policies, GMP, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee employee relations in a unionized environment, including attendance management, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, probationary reviews, and forklift certification management.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and other process improvement initiatives while monitoring KPIs related to productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, safety, and service.
- Collaborate across departments and external partners to optimize warehouse performance, maintain inventory accuracy, support audits, and ensure seamless coordination with production, transportation, purchasing, maintenance, quality, and third-party logistics providers.
Requirements
- Education in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace; forklift certification is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP), including platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and build high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and relationship management.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Results-driven and customer-focused, with a commitment to accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
