Position: Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice Avionics
Term: Full Time
Location: Ottawa, ON (YOW Airport)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed mechanics in routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
- Learn to diagnose and repair aircraft systems and components.
- Gain knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
- Follow instructions and procedures from mentors.
- Keep clean and organized work areas.
- Learn to document maintenance and repair work.
- Report on issues affecting the serviceability of aircraft.
- Perform functional tests and adjustments on aircraft systems.
- Participate in engine and APU.
- Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with Company and Transport Canada regulations.
- Perform duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, the safety of co-workers.
- Carry out modifications according to service bulletins while respecting industry standards.
- Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Perform all other related tasks.
Requirements:
- You have a college or professional training:
- You are flexible with respect to work shifts.
- Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
- Basic understanding of tools and their proper use
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work well in team.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
- Prior mechanical experience preferred but not necessary.
- Legally able to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or on a Work Permit)
