Role Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support a variety of accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, inter-company invoicing, inventory valuation, and month-end close activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and timely reporting, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the company.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and process accounts receivable, including all intercompany invoicing and reporting to management.

Conduct month-end inventory valuation and related adjustments.

Perform daily bank clearing and comprehensive bank reconciliations.

Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.

Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Prepare and analyze month-end financial reports.

Develop and maintain KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reporting.

Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including prepaids and current liabilities.

Reconcile and file sales tax returns (HST, PST).

Review and book corporate income tax provisions.

Support management with detailed financial analysis.

Build and support KPI reporting for Plant Operations.

Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and assist with tax filings.

Support internal and external audits.

Implement and maintain robust internal controls.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support decision-making.

Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Required Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in financial accounting roles.

Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).

Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations, including corporate income taxes and sales taxes.

Experience working with foreign currency conversions and accounting.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and Advanced MS Excel skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate financial information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:

CPA designation nice to have but not required.

Familiarity with Canadian sales tax regulations (PST, HST).

Experience with inter-company transactions and foreign currency accounting.

Familiarity with Power Query is a nice to have.

Experience in a manufacturing environment.

In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles specific to manufacturing (e.g., standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation).

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and their financial implications.

Understanding of inventory management, production costs, and supply chain finance.

High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices.
