Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Daytime Barista to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food and beverage preparation, cash handling, and customer engagement while working in a members based, cafe setting. Prior experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
The shifts for this role are 9am-2pm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to company standards.
- Follow all food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures when serving the WRC's daytime food offerings: pastries, breakfast sandwiches etc.
- Operate POS systems for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and members of the WRC: taking orders and addressing inquiries or concerns.
- Manage time and communication effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service.
Experience & Expectations
- A can-do professional attitude! We are a small business and need someone who is ready to jump into a team-work environment.
- Food Safe certification is preferred. We will assist the right candidate in gaining this certification if you do not have it upon entry into the company.
- A 'Serving It Right' certification is mandatory for this role.
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Familiarity with POS systems is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
