Job Summary:As an Interlock Installer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end installation of interlocking paving stones for driveways, walkways, patios, and retaining walls. You will work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation: Excavate, grade, and compact soil to create a solid, level base for paving stones.
- Layout & Measurement: Read and interpret project schematics/blueprints to measure, mark, and align patterns accurately.
- Stone Installation: Spread and level sand/gravel, cut pavers to fit around obstacles, and install edge restraints.
- Finishing Touches: Sweep, vibrate, and apply polymeric sand or sealants to finish the interlock.
- Equipment Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power saws, and heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, compactors).
- Job Site Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: [1 to 3+] years of proven experience in interlocking stone installation, landscaping, or heavy construction.
- Physical Fitness: High physical stamina; ability to lift heavy materials, bend, and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Driver’s License: Valid [Class G] Ontario Driver’s License with a clean abstract is strongly preferred.
- Tools Knowledge: Proficiency in using saws, levels, tampers, and measuring tools.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well within a crew.
