TDE is searching for an Electrical Designer, while working with all disciplines including Client representatives, to design power, lighting and basic control systems, and to coordinate work accordingly. Also to review and prepare Certificates of Compliance and any other documentation that may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scope of work with other disciplines.
- Prepare Certificates of Compliance for electrical equipment.
- Coordinate work between office, shop and other Engineering disciplines.
- Work with Client representatives on project standards and details.
- Design of Power, Lighting and basic control systems.
- Grounding design.
- Cable Tray design – plan and elevations.
- Heat tracing calculations.
- Cable schedules.
- Cable System Block diagrams.
- Preparation of Data Sheets and Material take-offs.
- Motor control design.
- Single Line diagram development.
- Review of technical specifications and selection of electrical equipment and material.
- Assist the Electrical Drafting Department as required.
- Prepare documentation for manuals and assist with manual assembly when necessary.
- Assist other departments with bid preparation.
- Inspect installation of on-skid electrical in TDE shops.
- Assist in updating Electrical Standards and Procedures.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in Oil and Gas Electrical Engineering.
- Plant Fabrication experience would be an asset.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Technology Program.
- Professional affiliation: R.E.T., P.Tech. - ASET
- Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
- Good understanding of financial metrics.
- Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a dynamic ever changing environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite (emphasis on Word PowerPoint & Excel), Outlook, Acrobat Pro, and other software systems.
