SUMMARY
PC Tech Support Specialist is responsible for upkeep and troubleshooting of Karcher North America computer hardware and software systems. To provide a high level of customer service to staff by meeting Service Level Agreements on assigned help desk tickets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Answer staff questions in person, via phone and email on all company supported applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer problems.
- Determine source of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.).
- Advise staff on appropriate action.
- Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.
- Provide recommendations on hardware and software purchases.
- Document resolutions for future reference.
- Perform routine upkeep and maintenance on servers including backups, patch management and process monitoring.
- Perform proactive security measures to protect servers and PCs.
- Perform hardware and software installations.
- Provide computer orientation to new company staff.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Two year certificate from college or technical school in computer related field or equivalent experience required
- Minimum two-year full time experience in the installation and maintenance of PC computer hardware, software and peripherals.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with:
- MS Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7
- Window 2003 Server (Active Directory)
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & Powerpoint) 2010
- Hard drive imaging
- TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Basic telecommunication cabling
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is often required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to crawl on hands and knees to access computers and cables under desks. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
