Manga Hotel Group is a privately held Canadian company involved in the acquisition, development, and management of real estate with a focus on high quality hotels affiliated with prestigious brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and the InterContinental Hotel Group. Currently, Manga Hotels owns and operates 33 hotels with over 5000 rooms, 15 food and beverage outlets and 5 residential properties with a number of new properties and developments in the pipeline.

THE HOTELS
Dual-branded in the East Village of Calgary’s Downtown, 198 room Hilton Garden Inn and 122 suite Homewood Suites, with 4,000 sq. ft. of naturally lit meeting space on one level, Garden Grille & Bar, and indoor pool. Our hotels are adjacent to Calgary’s award winning Central Public Library and Studio Bell - Canada’s National Music Centre, 750m from the Stampede entrance, and 600m away from the newly opened BMO Event Centre in Calgary’s Entertainment District.
THE ROLE
‘Nothing happens until somebody sells something.’
Sales Managers contribute to the overall success of the hotel by executing sales strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction. Sales managers secure new accounts and maintain existing accounts, promote food and beverage services to maximize hotel revenue and client satisfaction, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
ACTIVITIES
The duties of the Dual Sales Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
· Implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotels’ sales/revenues.
· Actively acquire new business and maintain existing accounts through sales blitz, prospecting, planned sales calls, and telephone/Email and other solicitations.
· Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, catering/banquet services.
· Quote and negotiate prices within established parameters. Upon booking, prepare sales contracts, co-ordinate and follow-up with all hotel operational departments to ensure delivery of promised service as mutually agreed upon.
· Assist Director of Sales in the development and update of the hotel-level business plans to include input on group sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the company.
· Develop quarterly action plan that addresses priorities and quotas and achieve sales activities as outlined in the hotels/individual action plans.
· Participate in business and industry related organizations locally and nationally, representing the Hotels in a professional manner.
· Coordinate and participate in sites, FAMs and industry / trade functions and shows.
· Utilize Property Sales System to track, solicit and follow up on accounts.
· Participate in prescribed Hotel/Brand training and special projects.
· Be independently responsible for achievement of all objectives outlined in the action plans and budget.
· Ensure effective yield management for group bookings produced and contracted.
· Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
· Responsible for day-to-day duties of prospecting accounts, account development and site inspections, continuously updating sales software.
· Achieving daily/weekly/ and monthly KPI’s for the role as assigned.
· Acknowledge and monitor competition's sales and marketing strategies and collect market and competitive intelligence to assist in developing strategic plan.
· Solicit client’s post event satisfaction, regardless of where it was executed.
· Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and standards. Ensure good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.
· Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.
· Make suggestions for improvements in overall operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenues, and profits.
· Display a high degree of professionalism and integrity as befitting a member of management.
· As required of all hotel associates, assist any customer or potential customer in a prompt, courteous, friendly, and helpful manner at all times.
· Fulfill Lobby Duty shifts as scheduled.
· Personal vehicle to travel locally or to other locations is a primary job duty.

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING
· Post secondary degree or diploma, from a recognized hospitality program an asset.
· 2-3 years of experience in a similar Hotel Sales role. Preference given to those candidates with Corporate and Business travel sales experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills. Ability to engage with a diverse client set.
· Excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail.
· Experience in sales and catering systems including PSS, CRM and PMS, to collect and analyze data and present information in spreadsheets and databases required. Previous experience with Delphi.FDC, OnQ PMS, OnQ R&I, and OnQ Solicitation Management an asset.
· Knowledge of room set-ups and capacities in relation to types of events and meeting spaces.
· Experience with Social Media management.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel required. Candidate must have their own vehicle as required.
· Flexibility to keep a work schedule that meets the fluctuating business levels of a hotel.
