Overview
Island Precision Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate a variety of woodworking and CNC machinery, including panel saws, CNC equipment, and edge banders while ensuring high-quality production and workplace safety standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and manufacturing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain panel saws, CNC machinery, edge banders, and other production equipment with accuracy and efficiency
- Set up and adjust machines according to production specifications and work orders
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform quality control inspections using calipers, measuring tools, and hand tools
- Monitor machinery during operation and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues as required
- Conduct routine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Assist with assembly, packaging, material handling, and warehouse support as needed
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment when required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all workplace safety procedures
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, or similar manufacturing equipment
- Experience with CNC programming and Fanuc controls is considered an asset
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks is an asset
- Experience with press brake machines, welding, or assembly work is beneficial
- Forklift certification or warehouse experience is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
