Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising skilled trades, automation technicians, and contractors while ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment and facility systems.
The successful candidate will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, support equipment installations and commissioning, and work closely with plant operations to improve equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise Automation/Robotic Technicians, Millwrights, Electricians, and maintenance personnel.
Lead maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment, including stamping presses, robotics, conveyors, and other production machinery.
Oversee facility maintenance, including air compressors, chilled water systems, overhead cranes, and lift trucks.
Schedule and supervise outside contractors for maintenance and plant projects.
Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Coordinate new equipment installations, commissioning, and production launches.
Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets and repair & maintenance (R&M) costs.
Track and report preventive maintenance completion and equipment performance.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide leadership and support in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training with extensive maintenance experience.
5-7 years of related maintenance leadership experience, or 10-15 years of relevant technical experience.
Millwright Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) is required.
Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance, automation, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and manufacturing equipment.
Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
Experience in an automotive or heavy manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
