We need a certified Red Seal Plumber and Gas Fitter who thrives in a service environment, works independently, solves problems creatively, and takes genuine pride in the quality of their craft.
This is a client-facing role at its core. You will be the face of Plumbing Father in every home you walk into. How you carry yourself, how you communicate, and how you leave the homeowner feeling at the end of a job matters as much as the technical work itself. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform residential plumbing and gas fitting installations, repairs, and service calls independently and to code
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing and gas issues — from routine repairs to complex, out-of-the-box problem-solving
- Install, replace, and repair pipes, fixtures, water heaters, sump pumps, drainage systems, and gas lines
- Deliver an exceptional service experience on every visit — how you leave the homeowner feeling matters as much as your workmanship
- Manage your own job sites independently — parts, timeline, client communication, and quality control
- Communicate professionally and clearly with homeowners throughout each visit, explaining work performed and any additional findings
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time on-site
- Identify additional service needs in a client-first, non-pushy manner
- Adhere to all applicable Canadian Plumbing Code, gas codes, safety standards, and WorkSafe Alberta regulations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Red Seal Interprovincial Plumber Certificate of Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal Interprovincial Gas Fitter Certificate of Qualification
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract
EXPIERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on residential plumbing experience post-certification
- Minimum 5 years of residential service work — service calls, repairs, and direct client-facing work
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Solid working knowledge of the Canadian Plumbing Code and applicable Alberta amendments
- Ability to work fully independently and manage a complete day’s workload without supervision
- Strong client communication skills — professional, clear, and personable with homeowners
- Problem-solving mindset: able to assess a situation and find the best path forward, including creative solutions to non-standard problems
- Own a complete set of basic hand and power tools
NICE TO HAVE ( ASSETS ) :
- Ability to install and troubleshoot furnaces
- Familiarity with hydronic heating systems
- Background in estimating or materials procurement
WHAT WE OFFER :
- $50.00 – $60.00 per hour based on experience — with room to negotiate for the right candidate
- Performance-based pay increases as the company grows
- Monday to Friday schedule — evenings and weekends are rare
