The Accounting Clerk ensures up-to-date financial records with timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments for a portfolio of properties and development projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

Ensuring invoices are reviewed and verified for accuracy and approval before processing for payment;

Ensuring payables and receivables are approved for posting and correctly coded and dated;

Issuing accounts receivable invoices and processing chargebacks;

Promptly depositing cheques, doing bank runs, and booking receipts to ensure ledger is updated in a timely manner; and

Maintaining a simple set of books for some of our entities.
Administrative Support

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial transactions and supporting documentation; and

Providing general administrative support to the accounting department, including photocopying, filing, sorting, organizing, and retrieving data and documents as requested by accountants.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Academic, technical, and professional competence

College diploma or certificate in Accounting; and
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.

Experience with Yardi is an asset
2. Work Experience and Job Skills
A demonstrated track record with 1 years’ in a related role

Experience in professional office environment;

Experience providing accurate and timely AP/AR functions is an asset;

Diligently dealing with methods of organization and detail in performing their duties;

Efficient and effective time management, demonstrating ability to meet deadlines while producing quality and accurate work;

Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and multi-task priorities; and

Developing strong, positive, and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders while practicing excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Experience in property management or development accounting is an asset.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 per annum based on experience
