We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable Abrasive Blaster / Manufacturing Laborer to join our growing team in Sudbury, Ontario. Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related environment is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with customers, vendors, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Willingness to work outdoors, overtime, shift work, and occasional weekends.
- Dependable, reliable, and committed to attendance and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
As an Abrasive Blaster / Manufacturing Laborer, you will play an important role in supporting production activities throughout the facility. Responsibilities include:
- Sandblasting new steel weldments, mining equipment, and refurbished components.
- Supporting multiple departments, including fabrication, painting, component repair, assembly, warehouse operations, and wash bay activities.
- Preparing weldments, components, and equipment for painting.
- Assisting with loading and unloading of the paint booth.
- Providing painting support and serving as a backup painter when required.
- Performing routine maintenance within the sandblast area and assisting with paint booth maintenance.
- Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the shop and yard.
- Assisting with general shop maintenance and housekeeping activities.
- Following all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Maintaining positive and professional working relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Taking ownership of assigned work areas and ensuring they meet Rock-Tech standards.
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support operational and production requirements.
