Job Description – Who we are looking for to join the team:
We are looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at our Prince George self-storage facilities!
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors, takes pride in maintaining equipment and facilities, and is comfortable completing basic administrative and computer tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills and be able to work independently while taking initiative. They will be responsible for regularly inspecting the facility and property to ensure the buildings, grounds, equipment, and customer areas are well maintained, secure, and operating efficiently.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining our yard, equipment, and buildings while also providing administrative support by opening and operating the Versatile office for a few hours each week.
Our Prince George locations offer traditional self-storage, portable storage and vehicle parking, and this role plays an important part in ensuring our properties remain safe, clean, and well maintained for our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain equipment including forklifts and skid steers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform seasonal property maintenance including snow clearing, sanding, lawn care, and general yard maintenance.
- Complete routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and storage areas.
- Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs as required.
- Keep the yard and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Open and operate the Versatile office during scheduled hours each week.
- Complete general administrative and computer work, including emails, data entry, filing, and updating company systems.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers when required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating forklifts and skid steers is required.
- Experience with snow removal, property maintenance, landscaping, or general labour.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic repairs.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and learning new software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, dependable, and safety focused.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract, and reliable vehicle.
- Forklift certification is considered an asset.
Work Schedule:
- Part-Time
- 32 hours per week
- Occasional Saturday work
