The Standards Council of Canada is a small but impactful Crown corporation that reports to Parliament through Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Job Summary and Key Activities
The Summer Student will support the International Standardization Development (ISD) team within the Standardization Services Branch. The role will help prepare ISD for the launch of the Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool by supporting readiness activities and helping to reduce risks related to quality and operational transition.
Key activities include:
- Data cleanup and alignment across platforms (ISO Global Directory, IEC Expert Management System, Standards Hub, LMS)
- Preparing and standardizing data for CRM migration and integration
- Improving data quality and integrity to support reporting and stakeholder management
- Supporting readiness for the Member Satisfaction Survey (including validation of member lists and contact information)
- Assisting with migration of ISD forms to the Support Desk and supporting service requests during the transition
Essential qualifications
Education
- 1st, 2nd or 3rd year post-secondary student with a focus in, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering ore related program.
- Must be registered for Fall 2026 session
Experience and Skills
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong computer skills, with intermediate level MS Excel skills

A final note
1: All applicants must be returning to university or college in the fall.
2: SCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process. Typically to be eligible for “Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints.
