We're seeking a motivated Bilingual Health & Safety Advisor to support a remote mining project in Québec. This is a three-month, project-based position working a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation with camp accommodations and meals provided while on site.
The successful candidate will provide both field and administrative health and safety support, working closely with project supervision to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable Québec legislation.
HSSE Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, review, and implementation of Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and Safe Job Procedures (SJPs).
- Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and verify compliance.
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and project compliance reports.
- Track employee training, certifications, and competency records.
- Assist with CNESST reporting requirements and return-to-work coordination, when applicable.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site safety initiatives.
- Support employee onboarding, orientations, and required project documentation.
- Maintain confidential personnel and health and safety records.
- Promote supervisor accountability by supporting documentation and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate scheduling and communication for safety training and meetings.
General Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and field support to the Project HSSE Lead.
- Assist with compiling safety statistics, trend analysis, and project reporting.
- Communicate effectively with project management, supervisors, client representatives, and field personnel.
- Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and leading by example.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
Job Requirements
- Must be fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Previous experience supporting health and safety on mining, construction, heavy industrial, or resource projects.
- Ability to work a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation at a remote camp-based mining project.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
- Enrolled in or working toward an NCSO designation is considered an asset.
- Standard First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, and applicable site safety certifications. CSTS or equivalent safety orientation is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with COR® or other recognized occupational health and safety management systems is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Québec occupational health and safety legislation and CNESST requirements.
- Understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective action processes.
- Experience assisting with Safe Work Practices (SWPs), Safe Job Procedures (SJPs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and safety documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic safety management systems.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the project.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $45.00-$60.00 per hour
