Badminton Professional (Contractor)

The Arbutus Club is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Badminton Professional (Contractor) to lead and grow our badminton programming beginning in the Fall 2026 season. This contractor role is ideal for an energetic instructor or coach who is passionate about creating engaging experiences for players of varying ages and skill levels while contributing to a welcoming and community-focused Club environment.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver a variety of badminton programs and lessons designed to encourage participation, skill development, and member engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality badminton programming for members of all ages and skill levels
- Offer a mix of group programs, clinics, private lessons, and introductory sessions
- Collaborate with Club staff to develop program schedules and offerings based on member interest and facility availability
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Promote participation and foster member engagement within the badminton community
- Work collaboratively with Club staff to coordinate scheduling, registration details, and program communications
- Ensure safe, professional, and engaging instruction at all times
- Maintain badminton equipment and report any facility or equipment concerns to Club staff
- Act as a positive ambassador for the Club and uphold exceptional customer service standards
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous badminton coaching or instructional experience required
- Minimum NCCP CompIntro Regional certification or equivalent coaching credentials required
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to engage participants of varying ages and skill levels
- Professional, reliable, organized, and self-motivated
- Current First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset
- Availability to work after school, weekday evenings, and weekends based on program needs
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Club staff
- A Criminal Record Check will be required
