Nutemp Mechanical Systems Ltd. is a multi-trade mechanical contractor that focuses on the industrial, commercial and institutional markets. With 40 years of experience, Nutemp has evolved into a vertically-integrated, industry-leading mechanical organization in Southern Ontario. We are currently seeking a Production Manager to lead our prefabrication operations and support the continued growth of our fabrication division.
YOUR Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules to support project requirements and installation milestones
- Coordinate fabrication priorities with Project Management, Operations, VDC, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and Field teams
- Balance labour, equipment, materials, and shop capacity to maximize productivity and workflow efficiency
- Monitor production performance and adjust schedules as required to meet project demands
- Maintain visibility of all fabrication activities through production tracking and visual management systems
- Lead production planning meetings and drive accountability for production commitments and work package completion
- Oversee daily fabrication operations through Pipe and Sheet Metal Foremen
- Ensure fabrication activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards
- Monitor workflow, resource utilization, and production progress to ensure on-time delivery of install-ready assemblies
- Ensure work packages, drawings, and materials are fabrication-ready prior to release to production
- Identify and resolve production constraints that impact fabrication schedules and productivity
- Ensure fabrication quality meets project requirements and company standards while minimizing rework and deficiencies
- Coordinate material readiness, staging, and delivery activities with Procurement, Warehouse, and Logistics teams
- Monitor labour productivity, production costs, throughput, and fabrication performance metrics
- Provide production reporting and performance data to Operations and Project teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and profitability
- Develop, mentor, and support fabrication leadership teams while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence
YOUR Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Manufacturing, Mechanical Technology, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred
- 7–10 years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, industrial production, mechanical contracting, or prefabrication environments
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading production teams, foremen, supervisors, or fabrication operations
- Strong understanding of piping, plumbing, sheet metal, mechanical systems, and prefabrication processes
- Proven ability to develop production schedules, manage shop capacity, allocate resources, and optimize workflow
- Experience utilizing production boards, visual management systems, and production planning processes
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, spool drawings, shop packages, specifications, and production requirements
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fabrication documents, and technical specifications
- Experience coordinating with Project Management, VDC, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and Field Operations teams
- Familiarity with ERP systems, production tracking software, and fabrication management platforms
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement principles, and process optimization methodologies
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to quality, professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence
- Mechanical contracting, modular construction, multi-trade fabrication, or prefabrication experience is considered a strong asset

Pay: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
