Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Officer to oversee and enforce safety protocols across construction sites. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing risks, and promoting a safe working environment for all personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety practices and experience with construction management software to effectively monitor and document safety procedures.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures tailored to specific project needs.
- Provide safety training sessions for construction workers and management staff to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigate accidents or incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and workers to foster a culture of safety on all sites.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation using construction management software.
- Stay current on industry safety regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction safety management or related roles within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Proficiency with construction management software for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively train staff and communicate safety expectations.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective measures promptly.
- Certification such as OSHA 30-Hour or equivalent is preferred.
- Construction background is essential; prior experience in construction management is a plus.
