Job Summary
We are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our earthworks division. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to maintain and repair heavy machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency, supporting our commitment to high-quality production standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of various pieces of heavy equipment, including trucks and trailers
- Perform Alberta CVIP's and Saskatchewan Safety Inspections
- Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments to fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires and clutches
- Test drive trucks to ensure satisfactory performance
- Keep tools, equipment and work area clean, organized and in good working condition
- Complete detailed, clear and concise work orders
- Transport Equipment if necessary.
- Reports to Shop Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Ability to interact constructively with co workers and communicate in a manner that leads to positive outcomes
- Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Technician Journeyman Certificate (4th year Apprentices will be considered)
- A minimum of 5 years' work experience is required
- Sound mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions
- Experience using diagnostic software with Caterpillar, and Pitachi, John deer an asset
- Strong time management skills
- Must be able to lift repetitively 50 pounds or more
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License
- Apprenticeship supervision

Pay: $65.00-$75.00 per hour
