TLC Alert Nursing and Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide one-on-one care to a preschool-aged child with special needs. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nurturing nursing care & monitoring during school and occasional home hours
- Provide a caring, safe, empathetic and nurturing approach
- Medication administration & emergency response preparedness
- G-tube feeding and nutritional support
- Seizure monitoring and safe interventions per care plan
- Collaborate with school staff, caregivers, and the healthcare team
- Promote comfort, engagement, and inclusion in school activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and care records
- Assist with toileting and personal care, dressing and routine activities
- Safe wheelchair mobility, classroom positioning, and transfers
- Medication administration per care plan
- Ongoing health monitoring, including
- Seizure observation and intervention
Qualifications
We are seeking an exceptional nurse to provide dedicated one-to-one support. This case is incredibly meaningful to our TLC Family, and we are looking for someone who is not only highly qualified but also deeply compassionate.
- Knowledge and confidence in managing G-tube monitoring and feeding, epilepsy and seizure care.
- Comfort with personal care.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to follow individualized care protocols.
- Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a school and home-based setting.
Requirements:
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months is a must
- TB test within the last 1 year
- Proof of 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccination
- Must be familiar with online charting (e.g. MEDITECH, e-MAR, Point-Click-Care)
- N95 Mask Fit
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle
