We are currently seeking an experienced Field Millwright / Welder to support maintenance, repairs, and installations at remote mining and industrial sites. This role is ideal for a tradesperson who enjoys working in the field, solving mechanical problems, and performing fabrication and welding in demanding environments.
Rotational schedules are available 1 week on 1 week off or 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking for strong earnings with balanced time off.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mining and industrial equipment
- Conduct welding and fabrication work in the field (MIG, Stick, and/or TIG)
- Install, align, and maintain equipment such as conveyors, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and structural components
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment and systems
- Work safely in remote mining environments while following all safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and team members
Qualifications
- Certified Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) or equivalent mechanical experience is an asset but not required.
- Proven welding and fabrication experience
- Experience working in mining, heavy industrial, or field service environments
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in field conditions
- Valid driver’s license
Assets
- Experience working on crushers, conveyors, and heavy mining equipment
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
- Previous remote or field-based work experience
