Job Overview
The Warehouse Worker / Driver plays a key role in Dotcom Metals’ daily operations by ensuring the accurate preparation, safe transport, and timely delivery of customer orders. This position combines hands-on warehouse responsibilities—such as order processing, inventory handling, and equipment operation—with professional driving duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented, with the ability to balance efficiency in the warehouse and excellence on the road.
Driving & Delivery
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver materials to customers and pick up from vendors.
- Provide excellent customer service while representing the company in a professional manner.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols at all times.
- Load, secure, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Verify orders and obtain proof of delivery from customers.
- Keep accurate delivery logs, mileage, and fuel records.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Warehouse Operations
- Accurately process and prepare customer orders for delivery or pickup.
- Assist with loading/unloading trucks, customer vehicles, and incoming shipments.
- Operate equipment safely, including forklift, band-saw, and shear (training provided).
- Receive, stock, and organize materials in accordance with warehouse procedures.
- Support inventory management, including counts and audits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Customer Service
- Act as a professional and courteous point of contact during deliveries and pickups.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
- Address questions or concerns promptly and ensure issues are escalated when necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is essential, with a focus on distribution and logistics.
- Proficiency in operating equipment such as forklifts is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
- Experience in manufacturing or construction settings can be a plus, enhancing overall operational understanding.
- Strong attention to detail is required for accurate order fulfillment and inventory management.
