Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support a sole parctitioner in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative, research, and legal drafting skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This is a paid position suitable for individuals with clerical experience seeking to advance their career in the legal field.
Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports with high accuracy
- Manage and organize files
- Assist with file management tasks, including tracking deadlines and milestones
- Perform data entry and maintain detailed records of case activities and client information
- Support administrative functions such as filing, scanning, and organizing physical and electronic documents
- Prepare for client interviews by gathering relevant information and scheduling appointments
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and direct calls appropriately
- Assist with client communication, including drafting correspondence and follow-up emails
- Support the legal team during trial preparation and other litigation activities as needed
Experience
- Proven administrative experience within a legal or professional office environment is preferred
- Strong proofreading, writing, and legal drafting skills are essential
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Demonstrated skills and attention to detail in document review processes
- Knowledge of clerical procedures such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records
- Strong interpersonal skills including professional phone etiquette and client interaction abilities

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
