We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. Prior experience in guest services, food service, or hospitality is preferred but not required; we value excellent communication skills and a warm demeanor. The position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in customer service, restaurant operations, and hospitality management. you will also be tipped out by the servers in our pool system.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservation or seating arrangements efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, answering any initial questions about the menu or restaurant policies
- Manage waitlists and communicate wait times accurately to guests
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, taking reservations and answering questions about the restaurant
- Maintain cleanliness of the host station and dining area entrance
- Assist with seating arrangements during busy periods to ensure smooth flow of guests
- Use POS systems such as Micros POS to process reservations or takeout orders when necessary
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the guest’s dining experience, addressing any concerns promptly
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience with hotel or restaurant environments is beneficial but not required
- Ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of food service operations and customer service best practices is preferred
