The Position
Alderwood Estates is looking for a Chef to join our fantastic, expanding team! We currently provide 3 home cook meals and many delicious snacks every day from our fast past kitchen.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast past environment, maintaining accurate food inventories, have a strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures and enjoy working as a part of a team.
Qualifications
· Graduation from a secondary education program or trades certification is required;
· Food Handlers Course;
· Upon hire the successful candidate must obtain the following requirements: Certificate of Conduct (including vulnerable sector check), First Aid/ CPR Certificate, TB testing, Medical and Immunization records.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
· Ordering food, estimate food requirement and may estimate food costs
· Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
· Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
· Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
· Oversee kitchen operations
· Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
· Following public health guidelines
· Supervisory skills are considered an asset
· An understanding of nutrition and menu planning
· Others duties as assigned
