We are looking for an RECE to join our growing team! Must be reliable, hard-working and have passion for children and their development. MUST HAVE CHILD CARE EXPERIENCE!
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children who may require extra guidance in the classroom, including children with behavioural challenges, social-emotional needs, self-regulation difficulties, or developmental support needs.
Position Summary
The Program Support Staff will work closely with classroom educators to provide additional support to children who may need help with emotional regulation, transitions, peer interactions, following routines, and participating successfully in the classroom environment. This role helps create a safe, inclusive, and supportive setting where all children can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children requiring additional assistance
- Support children with emotional regulation, transitions, routines, and social interactions
- Implement strategies to help children manage challenging behaviours in a calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate way
- Work collaboratively with classroom educators, supervisors, and families to support children’s success
- Help create inclusive environments that meet the needs of all learners
- Observe, document, and communicate children’s progress, needs, and behaviours as required
- Use positive guidance techniques and support individualized plans or recommendations from outside professionals when applicable
- Maintain a safe, caring, and responsive classroom environment
Must have:
Good Standing with the College of ECE (If you have an ECE Diploma)
Police Clearance- Vulnerable Sector Check
First Aid/CPR C
Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen
Diploma or Degree relating to children- CYW, EA, Bachelors of Education
