Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Helper to join our production team. This role supports our daily operations, ensuring our facility is clean, organized, and efficient. This position is full-time with the potential to join the Blue production union following a 90-day probationary period.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness in the shop by sweeping, organizing, and performing other general cleaning duties.

Assist team members and perform tasks as needed across the production area.

Support with deliveries and pickups if a valid Full G driver’s license is held.

Move, load, and unload materials, supplies, and equipment around the shop.

Conduct basic upkeep on tools and equipment, such as cleaning and storing them properly; report any issues to supervisors.

Help organize, stock, and monitor inventory of materials and supplies in the shop.

Dispose of shop waste, recycling, and hazardous materials safely, following company guidelines and safety standards.

Participate in basic assembly or production tasks, such as sorting, labeling, or packing items as needed.

Perform visual inspections of products and materials for any visible defects, reporting issues to supervisors.

Assist production workers with entry-level tasks, such as positioning parts, holding materials, or carrying supplies as directed.

Follow all safety guidelines, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.

Record completed tasks and maintain any necessary documentation for shop activities as required.
Qualifications:

Strong reliability and a commitment to a consistent work schedule

Experience with power tools preferred

Full G driver’s license is an asset but not required

Must have CNC Skills to operate plasma

Knowledge of plasma cutting software

Experience with Plasma Cutter
