Job Description
Prairie Hill Farms is looking for a reliable and motivated Batch Maker / Kettle Operator (Production Worker) to join our production team in Picture Butte, Alberta.
In this role, you’ll play an important part in our daily food-production operations, including preparing batches of sauces, juices, jams, and other haskap berry products. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow with our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cooking kettles and prepare production batches according to established recipes and specifications.
- Accurately measure ingredients and perform basic production calculations.
- Assist with the manufacturing and processing of a variety of haskap berry products.
- Support jar filling, bottling, boxing, bagging, and other production-line activities.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, work areas, and facilities according to food-safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality targets.
- Monitor production processes and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Complete production, sanitation, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and communicate suggestions to management.
- Help train new employees on safe equipment operation and established procedures.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with coworkers and customers.
Skills and Competencies
- Previous manufacturing or production experience.
- Experience operating manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A positive, outgoing attitude and the ability to work well with others.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a food-production facility or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of food handling and food-safety practices (GMP, HACCP and SQF)
- Math skills and the ability to follow recipes and measurements.
- Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Picture Butte, AB, or plan to relocate before starting work.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
