Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team.
Part-time shift filling position with full-time at the end of August. Need somebody to take when they need a day off.
.The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cash handling, and food safety within a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages following company recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment sanitation and food safety compliance
- Manage cash register operations efficiently, ensuring accurate transactions and change distribution
- Assist in restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels throughout shifts
- Uphold food safety standards by following proper food handling procedures
- Demonstrate effective time management to serve customers promptly during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
