We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both framing and interior finishing, the ability to work independently, and proven leadership experience managing crews and projects.
Location: Saint John area
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry crews on residential and commercial construction projects.
- Perform and oversee wood and steel framing work.
- Complete high-quality interior finishing, including trim, doors, mouldings, cabinetry, and millwork.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate daily activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
- Train and mentor team members while maintaining a productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in framing and interior finishing carpentry.
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand or crew leader is required.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
