Salary: $55,000 – $75,000 + performance-based bonuses

Fast Forward French (FFF) is a Canadian company specializing in French language training for over 25 years. Recognized as Employer of the Year 2025 by Hire Immigrants Ottawa, we are known for the quality of our programs and the long-term relationships we build with our clients.
We are entering an active phase of growth, expanding into new markets, new segments, and new opportunities. Our Business Development team is made up of three dedicated professionals, and we are looking for a fourth team member who will play an active role in driving our continued growth.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities across the public and private sectors.
· Proactively prospect through networking, research, outreach, and structured follow-ups
· Build and maintain a strong portfolio of potential clients and opportunities
· Identify new markets and key decision-makers to target
· Lead initial client conversations to understand needs and position our services effectively
· Represent FFF at events, conferences, and industry activities
· Analyze market trends and recommend growth opportunities
· Collaborate with internal teams to convert opportunities into signed contracts
Who We’re Looking For
· You don’t wait for leads to come to you, you create them. You are comfortable initiating conversations, handling rejection, and staying consistent in your efforts over time.
· More specifically, you:
· Are proactive and take ownership of your results
· Are comfortable reaching out and building professional relationships
· Understand that rejection is part of the process
· Can adapt your communication style to different audiences and contexts
· Maintain a strong discipline in prospecting activities
· Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Are able to work independently while collaborating with a small team
Required
· Fluent English (spoken and written)
· Intermediate French (able to hold basic professional conversations)
· Experience in business development, sales, marketing, or client relations — ideally in a service-based environment
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently
· Comfortable with digital tools (Excel, Word, Airtable, etc.) and willing to learn new systems
Assets
· Experience in B2B, corporate, or Government environments
· Understanding of service-based business models
